That's really shocking news and quite a blow. My deepest condolences go to his 
friends and those of us who knew him well. While I didn't know him in person, 
I appreciate the work he has done for Lilypond. 

What's even more shocking is that even on the last day of his life, he did two 
commits to lilypond! 

How about naming a LilyPond release in his memory? I suppose this would serve 
his memory quite well.
