Have you tried Nicolas Sceaux's instructions at
<http://nicolas.sceaux.free.fr/>? They have worked for me. I'm running OS X
Leopard 10.5.5, and the process was quite straightforward.

When I got my MacBook Pro I put an Ubuntu partition on it just so I could do
LilyPond development, but the command line has worked great for me so I
never use my Ubuntu.
