GUB help

I am interested in getting a new stable release of LilyPond out, so I want to 
work on Critical issues.

There are 3 critical issues, all of which will require changes to GUB in order 
to fix them.

I know nothing about GUB, but I can see that the lack of GUB knowledge is 
preventing a release candidate.

So when I got my new 500 GB, 7200 RPM hard drive I set up an Ubuntu partition, 
with Ubuntu 11.04.

I also set up VirtualBox with lilydev 1.1.

I've been unable to build GUB with either of these setups.

I think I'll focus right now on lilydev, since it's the standard.

Here's the error message:
