No. Rehearsal marks are always put on bar lines (between notes). This
reflects standard practice AFAIK.
You could write a new engraver (or adapt the existing mark-engraver)
to wait for note heads, and tack the X position of the mark onto the
last note head. However, such an approach will still get wrong results
if the \marks in a score are not synchronised between different
staffs.
