Aren't most midi scores, including orchestra and band
scores, on a single channel out of a possible 16?
If it is possible to insert comments into a midi file,
could lyrics be inserted as comments? That's
probably all there is to making a .kar file, since
timidity plays them and dumps the lyrics to the console
quite well.
