Do you ever breath when you talk? I get totally exhausted by reading
your email without a single new paragraph and no capital letters
at the beginning of new sentences.

Nevertheless; Did you take a look at the output of midi2ly?
It produces a separate identifier for the music of each
MIDI track and channel, so it's easy to reorganize the \score
declaration to put the instruments in separate staves if you
wish.
On the other hand, midi2ly is a primitive tool so you shouldn't
expect too good output, compared to scores written directly with
LilyPond.

If you search the mailing list archives, you will find some discussions
also about etf2ly. If you are interested in some programming, everybody
would be happy if you could contribute with some improvements on etf2ly.
