More on 2.3.20

Ok, I guess that \notes has been deprecated.  However, when I now try
running lilypond, I get

lilypond newtest.ly 

Now processing `newtest.ly'
Parsing...
Interpreting music... error: can't find `feta20.afm'
Music font has not been installed properly.  Aborting

However, fet20.afm is installed in the directory below

/usr/local/coop/share/lilypond/2.3.20/fonts/afm

Note that I ran configure with

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/coop --exec-prefix=/usr/local/coop/i686

Suggestions?
