Well, I was a bit too hasty. I found that after installing
ec-fonts-mftraced the command 'updmap --enable Map ec-mftrace.map' could
be run. That would solve the problem. I will propose the necessary patch
for the cygwin postinstall script, but I think it is as important as
mktexlsr in all distributions.
