Found:
either enter as first line of the file:
% -*- LaTeX -*-
or add to your ~/.emacs the following:
(setq auto-mode-alist
(cons '("\\.lytex$" . latex-mode) auto-mode-alist))
I have tested, both of them work fine.
That might help anyone.
