With 2.4.6 your code gives 15 on the first line and 20 on the second.

Bug in 2.6.3?

Nope.  Here's my test.ly:

\version "2.6.3"

{
    \set Score.currentBarNumber = #15
    \repeat unfold 5 c'1 \break
    \repeat unfold 5 c'1
}

On the 2nd line, I get the bar number (20) but not on the first line.
