Hi, Michael:
I want to have a crescendo mark which starts within a monophonic part an endswithin a polyphonic part. Like this (non working) example: c\cr << {d\!} \\ {f} >> The c should be connected to the subseeding d by a crescendo.
Short answer: c\< << { d\! } \new Voice { f } >> Long answer: the manual specifically shows how to do this, c.f.<http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.9/Documentation/user/lilypond/Explicitly- instantiating-voices.html#Explicitly-instantiating-voices>
HTH! Kieren.
