AFAIK it should work like on any other linux distribution:

-download the linux-x86 installer on http://lilypond.org/web/install/

-open a terminal

-(as root user), cd to the download directory (e.g. your Desktop) and

-type "sh lilypond-2.*-x86.sh" and press Enter
