Ah, I misunderstood, if it's just one staff, then you could just place a note, and change the character used to draw it. Like a custode. If you need it to cross multiple staves, I don't know if that would work, but you could always try it.

The easiest way is probably to use the lyrics context. And just place it
between the staves you'd like.
