Perhaps just add a 1px border to the items? white inbetween, light  
grey at the bottom?

Oh, I just realized you're using a table for the menu.
Please don't use layout tables on new websites any more!
Should I provide you with a CSS so that you can use a UL instead?

There are neat CSS techniques if you'd like to use gradients, but I  
like the plain look.
