Hi, Sven.

It seems odd to me that MacPorts can cope with Guile 1.8 and Homebrew can’t.

I have both MacPorts and Homebrew installed, but the majority of the 
applications I’ve been using are available through Homebrew. In general, I’d 
prefer to keep things simple by having only one package manager.

As I’m not a cutting-edge user of lilypond, I can content myself with the “brew 
cask” method.
