thanks for the reply.
The router is brand new and was provided by my ISP.
Also, why does Skype/GoogleTalk doesn't cause this?
Hi,
Unfortunately some crappy routers are indeed trying to route SIP messages differently than other UDP or TCP packets, which is very bad.
I invite you to contact your router maker and report the bug to him.
Linphone is just sending normal IP packets and this should never be a reason for a router to crash.
Short term alternative is to enable SIP/TLS (encrypted SIP) in the transport parameters, so that the router won't be able to decode SIP message, and hopefully will not crash anymore.

Simon

I am trying to use Linphone, but every time i answer a call,my home router, is getting stuck.completely stuck.it does not respond to ping nor provides internet.until i unplug it and replug it to the power socket.i have already replaced the router to verify it is not damaged.
i am using an asus dgn2200.
i am 100% sure that linphone is the cause for the router fail since it fails every single time i answer or dial, while skype and other messengers do not do any problem.
the computer i am using on the home network is running windows 7, and i am dialing from my mobile device to the home computer.
Please assist me...
Thank you!
