With "slides", the @RunningTitle { lout } appears as '??' on several
pages, including page 1. This means it couldn't really be a rounding
error, because any text surely couldn't be knocked back to before the
first page -- could it?
I've tried every gcc and egcc option I can; there's very little control
over floats.
