Actually, there seems to be some movement in our direction in
docproc (Java XML/XSL processor -- see link on uwe's webpage),
but I have not working CLI Java, so I cannot confirm it.
For me, much more pressing thing is missing report2html program
(something simliar to tth or latex2html -- former is better IMHO). I
do not use many equations and graphs (being a lawyer), but I have
a lot of footnotes and references (for the same reason).
I guess, that for somebody willing to write Loutish editor something
like that should be a piece of cake. Wouldn't you like to make some
training in lout parsing first and write it (actually, I like the idea of
Python, because it is the only language I can at least read -- not
write too much, but anyway :-)?
However, as people before me have written -- GUI is very nice idea
(look not only on LyX or preferably KLyX, but try to check W3C's
Amaya as well -- it has a potential to be much more than just
another HTML writer) and I do not want to discourage you from
that. Even if report2html would be written by somebody else. :-)
Have a nice day
