So is this a matter of doing this ...

cd crosstool-0.42
patch -p1 crosstool-0.42-xxx.patch

Is this what needs to be done to apply the patch?

What about in general. Say one were to start with just plain old
crosstool-0.42 and they wanted to apply a patch to crosstool-0.42 before
building.

How does one go about applying a patch first prior to building?

Hi Vin,

The crosstool archive in the source rpm has been modified to work with
the ltib infrastructure, and so looks for the GNU source archives in the
following locations and order:

1/ In the directory /opt/freescale/pkgs on the local build machine

2/ An archive area internal to Freescale

3/ http://www.bitshrine.org/gpp/

4/ The normal places looked by the standard crosstool.

So one quick way of getting to the next step would be to download the
archives that are missing manually and place them
in /opt/freescale/pkgs,

Best regards,

Steve
