Should the home page be written for relative ignoramuses
wondering how best to access the web? If so, it might be
useful to simplify the odd bit, eg. para 1-3:

<p>Lynx is a text browser for the World Wide Web and integrated
information services such as (??). It is a program for VMS
and various versions of Un*x operating systems. There is a
DOS derivative, DosLynx, but it does not have all the
<a
href="http://lynx.browser.org/page_of_persuasive_feature_descriptions_and
_'full-screen'_type_technicalities.html">powerful features of
Lynx</a>.  This page &lt;URL: http://lynx.browser.org/&gt;
will maintain links to <a href="#resources">resources around
the globe</a> of particular interest to Lynx users, operators, and
developers.
</p>

<p> Originally developed for the Campus-Wide Information
Service at the University of Kansas, Lynx has been maintained
and significantly advanced through version 2.6 principally
through the leadership and hard work of Foteos Macrides.
Volunteers share the ongoing Lynx development at
lynx.browser.org.
</p>

<p>
<a name="resources">More information about Lynx is
available from the following sites:

etc. etc. (Does this need a context diff? :)
This may not be a real improvement, but the idea is to keep it simple
and direct up front, and to give useful stuff (resources) before the
reader's attention span is exhausted. (Also removed Fote's
affiliation.)

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Martin
