I had thought about that, but the command line parser was
designed to make the '=' optional, and in turn makes values required
if the switch name takes a value. That is, if you changed it to
accept "-book=c" or "-book c", you could never again use just "-book"
reliably.

In advanced mode the first thing it does is prompt you for
the letter, or '=' to get the menu, so that's "logically and
semantically consistent" with the parsing structure. In novice or
intermediate mode it always comes up with the menu, which is fine
too. If Lynx is invoked non-interactively, it assune 'A'.

Fil had done the "first round" mods for multibookmark file
support quite some time ago, and knowing how much futzing it would
take to make it take everything into account the needed to be taken
into acccount (or to even think of it all, rather than letting the
mods go through a "development" phase), I had put it off until after
the v2.6 release. But now that it's in there, I don't see how we
ever lived without it. It's wonderful for a client like Lynx.

The VLINKS feature I just added works well with it too. I
started out to address the need for a complete visited links "history"
(if people understood the History Page logic and security and
efficiency issues it addresses, and how to use it as intended, they
perhaps would be glad the VLINKS was an addition, not a replacement).
However, it's nice for reviewing what's at a site, and then working
from that list to save links into the various bookmark files based
on the type of information, or whatever other logic you've used for
organizing your bookmark file set.
