        According to the IETF draft for HTTP state management, Max-Age
takes one parameter, an integer giving the number of seconds for which
this cookie should last. People consulting Netscape's informal page
on cookies will see nothing about Max-Age; one would hope that anyone
consulting the IETF draft would get the Max-Age parameter right.
While programs should be conservative in what they generate and
liberal in what they accept, they should be liberal, not utterly
wanton. :)

        (The simple explanation of cookies still isn't written; sorry,
but I've got the flu and can't think straight.  Tomorrow, hopefully;
my apologies to David, Laura, and the rest...)
