RPM is a generally supported Linux media format. The SSL enabled Lynx
kit I put together is aimed specifically at Linux users. RPM is starting
to spread to other unix platforms and it is the _ideal_ future distribution
system once more people are including it as standard and making tarballs
of it available.

Be careful. The SSL Lynx I built uses SSLeay. That means it is possibly
a patent offence for a US citizen to even use it (RSA patent). Nobody in
the US has taken software patents to the supreme court, nobody knows.
The situation on re-export is probably that it will be shown to be legal
in a year or so's time when the supreme court trashes ITAR and friends
for good. Until then re-exporting it is asking for serious trouble from
the loonies with smart suits shades and guns.

ITAR implies a US citizen doing this could probably be locked up for a
few years on return.

My advice would be

1. Don't rexport it from the US and be careful from other countries
2. Rebuild the Source RPM with ssleay built with RSAREF and you can
legally use it for non commercial use in the USA
3. Emigrate ;)
