Fote and Scott have said perfectly correct things about
in

- but things that don't answer the user's original question.

When a
occurs in an
, the text *after* the
has a bad
left indent.

Some text blah blah...

foo bar baz

and more text blah blah...

comes out as something like

   * Some text blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah

foo bar baz

and more text blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
       blah blah

Note that the first line of the text following the
does not have
the proper left indent.
