Look at the recent postings on the lynx-dev list regarding the DJGPP port
of the current Lynx and about Bobcat, delete DOSLynx and install a derivative
of the current Lynx.

I would be very surprised if DOSLynx had any support for mail, it is so
old that some servers won't even respond to it, even though the protocol
requires that they do. I'm not actually sure that the DJGPP or Bobcat
ports support mail, either; it would have to be completely built in,
whereas Unix, VMS and even Win32 version can invoke a specialised mail
program to do some of the work. The 32 bit Winsock version does support
mail, via an external program.

It might help to know the constraints you are under:

 - type of processor (386 or better, 286, less);
 - RAM;
 - available disk space;
 - nature of connection to the internet;
 - friendliness of local system administrators.

=xx are the result of not undoing the redundant MIME coding on this message,
compounded by a word wrapper that leaves trailing spaces and a MIME encoder
which encodes characters that don't need encoding.
