the latest Lynx 2-7-1 does all sorts of things with cookies:
get it from  lynx.browser.org/ ;
a new version of Lynx is expected in the near future.
if it's a special problem of cookie+password,
i believe there's discussion in the Archive  www.flora.org/lynx-dev ,
which can be searched via  www.crl.com/~subir/lynx/search-archives.html .
