something like that, I guess - we'll certainly continue refining/extending
the process (but don't want to leave the non-Unix platforms hard to build).

My pending patch modifies the install so that lynx.cfg's pointer to the
help-files is edited only if you use "make install-help".  I think that's
what you are having problems with.  (As we get up to a real release, we're
looking more closely at install issues - that's more/less what I expect).

I tried the patch yesterday, and it did build.  (I looked only at the VMS
script changes for today, and those will require some work, since they've
dropped part of the include-path).  I'll do what I can in the morning.
