exactly (and it works passably well with Solaris curses - I prefer running
with default colors, but that's not Solaris's fault).

At the moment, though, my main interest in the styles code is that it seems
to highlight a problem in 2.8 wrt the tagsoup parser (or else I've not
completely separated it from the DTD table).
