It is quite rare for Linux problems with applications to be kernel
version related. They are much more likely to be distribution type and
version related as they tend to depend on directory structures, shared
libraries and compilers.
However the volume of patches between 2.0.0 and 2.0.34 would suggest that
2.0.0 probably was a premature release and therefore that the value of x
would be important if the problem is kernel version related. (In particular
I've experienced a number of kernel level GPFs, which can show as signal
11, in 2.0.30 - none so far in Lynx.
