lynx-dev SOcks5 proxy problem

Hi:

        I am just compile an lynx2.8 on a solaris 2.5
        SUN 1000e system, and I must access the internet
        through a socks5 proxy(with username and 
        password), but it always shows "Alert!: Unable to
        connect to remote host.". So , what should I do
        now?
