perhaps it's a bug in the loader, or (if you were compiling from a network
mounted drive) a glitch in the I/O that corrupted something.  Once in a while
I get something like that and simply have to reboot/rebuild/whatever.

Maybe your shell doesn't like the long list of names (replacing it with
an explicit *.o might help -- I had that problem with one program a month
or two ago).
