A really stupid question:
On my OWN computer (sparcstation 5, solaris 2.51) "//localhost//foo/bar/t.html"
works fine (within bookmarks-file line).
Not so on netcom.
Here are two lines trying it (on netcom):
<LI><a href="http://www.slate.com/TOC/current/contents.asp">Slate - Table of
Contents</a>
38 <LI><a href="http://www.slate.com/cover/current/cover.asp">Slate
(magazine)</a>
39 <LI><a href="http://localhost//u5/dkcombs/t5.html">t5.html (for MAIL
that is HTML -- edit off top and bottom!)</a>
40 <LI><a href="http://localhost//~/t5.html">t5.html (for MAIL that is
HTML -- edit off top and bottom!)</a>
41 <li><a href="http://www.yahoo.com/">####### SEARCH-ENGINES::
#######</a>
42 <LI><a

search engine</a>
43 <li><a href="http://www.yahoo.com/">Yahoo!</a>

And this proves that the file exists:

QUESTION: what does "localhost" REALLY mean?
. on a stand-alone computer, like mine.
. on a network, like netcom's
(By the way, it displays fine when put onto
the command line itself, eg:
~wcheung/bin/lynxtest -useragent="Mozilla/4.02" -vikeys -cache=60 t5.html
)
Actually, it says "unable to connect to remote host".
Any ideas? THANKS!
