i've read the deluge of responses during my daytime sleep period (grin),
so i'm sure you now feel encouraged without my input FWIW.

one of my small self-chosen roles is First-aid Help Desk
& we regularly get innocent users who have been bitten by this one:
at present there's no help for them, so feel even more encouraged.
2-8-3dev.nn will probably be the place to start adding JS,
maybe  c 2 mths  from now, but TD knows best about timing, of course.

BL & TD have described lynx-dev's processes & practices very well:
we tend to be vigorous-minded in debate,
but manage to remain generally polite & try to act by consensus;
some contributors are very good programmers, some users, some in between;
we are a pretty well-established club, but i don't know how typical,
since i don't belong to any others of the kind (smile).
