That (the FREE() location) helped.  The change seems to have
fixed the spurious cookie file names, and I haven't noticed any
bad things happening because of it.  Though I haven't used it a
whole lot.

(I wasn't really waiting, just slow and busy)

Here's a patch for the three line change, gzipped to protect the
line lengths.  Or should I have uuencoded it?
