You installed the wrong lynx binary. You installed the DOS version; you
need the Win32 version. There are several available:

"http://www.jim.spath.com/lynx_win32/";
"http://www.shonai-cit.ac.jp/eci/senshu/lynx283j19990916.zip";

I would advise one of the first two for initial installation, since
much of the documentation of the third is in Japanese. No packet
driver is used in Win32. The DOS version can not use winsock.
