No, you won't like it: not only does it mean that / or n continue
to not-work during partial display (they remain unimplemented), it
also means that the keys that are implemented for that mode won't
work.

Well, in a sence one can say -zap=x does enable / with partial display:
the key will be saved up and dealt with after loading is done, instead
of being dropped, so pressing / during loading will get you your
"Enter a whereis query:" but later.

I find this mode for interactive use not useful myself, but mentioned
it for completeness.

Not easily, not this way.  Implementing the WHEREIS ('/') action in
partial display mode has little to do with this patch, it's a separate
problem, and one that gets repeated for all the other unimplemented
keys.

Well the one gain in this context is, you could use p.m.s. to program
lynx for one initial page (if it doesn't change pattern) to skip over
the ads.  And after that's done you gain control and can move around
as you are used to.
