WAIS isn't compiled in except in extraordinary circumstances. I may
be one of the few people compiling lynx with WAIS (on SunOS and
FreeBSD). To compile with WAIS, you have to edit both the makefile
in the top lynx directory AND makefile in WWW/Library/Implementation
after running configure, in addition to having a compiled wais library
(available precompiled for SunOS, but it took a while to port to
FreeBSD). The big problem is finding a WAIS server to test the lynx
binary. There are very few out there now. With few servers, I doubt
that many are going to the trouble to add WAIS to lynx.
