Use full URLs, for example http://yahoo.com instead of just yahoo.com.
Try
-pauth=id:pw authentication information for protected proxy server
if the proxy needs authentication. (But if you don't, lynx should prompt
you anyway - *IF* the proxy asks for it in a way that lynx can
understand.)
Use the latest lynx version, 2.8.3.
