It might - I'll look closer, but I think the short answer is that the reason it doesn't work is that the data needed is not in the current page.
If that's the case, it would be not that simple to change...

afterthought: it would be relatively simple to add a new command that
would make Lynx prompt for the pathname to move the files to - but that
would require typing (or cut/paste).
