Would it be ok to move to CVS Automake? There are changes I did on
the later that needs to be exercised on real conditions, and it would
also simplify bootstrap considerably.
My plan is to have Automake 1.6 soon, so I don't think it would imply
releasing GNU M4 with a beta Automake.
