Yes, I can confirm that. It works flawlessly (or with the same flaws as in normal mode). I've been using it that way on xubuntu, kubuntu, ubuntu, gentoo, fc4 (i386) and debian sarge, etch, gentoo (sparc64).

Confirm that, microdc2 itself cannot run as daemon but can be started under screen(1) control to get the same effect.
