[Mldonkey-users] Memory usage of mlnet-2.5-4

Hi List!

I have never had any problems with memory usage of mlnet for the last months 
until I did some 'optimizations' listed somewhere on the web. After 
restarting mlnet it suddenly needed 260MByte of RAM. This caused my system 
which has 384MByte of RAM to swap a lot of and normal work was not possible 
any more. I was already thinking of buying some more memory but decided to 
instead figure out which setting needed so much space. It had luck and the 
first guess was right. Setting 'overnet_search_keyword' back to false and 
after restarting my mlnet now uses only 64MByte. It is running for one day 
now in this configuration but I cannot see any performance difference in 
download/upload.
Why does this function need that much memory. Is it really necessary?
