Hello,

I am the debian maintainer of the mldonkey package. You are right, they
have been removed from sarge. I am not really against this removal,
since mldonkey needs frequents updates ( i don't see a version of
mldonkey living 2 years without needing to be updated ).

You can still grab the package from unstable, by hand and install it,
there is no problem with this ( runtime dependency are not very strong
).
