I'm new here. For starters and for those that are interested. Monit looks like a really great product. I don't actually have it running yet. But I have it built, installed and somewhat configured, and it looks like it has great potential. I just think its great to see a product that is more interest in keeping the system running than just sending out alters and displaying the status on a web page. If things work out I plan on donating to the project. Possibly even code. Now for my first question. The following line in the manual seems to imply that what I want is possible. Monit can examine how much system resources a service or the system is using. What I am after is to monitor total cpu usage for all processes and free system memory left. I saw reference to this in the mail archives as not possible yet but it was not a real new mail. Can one do this? Thanks, Chris |
