Monit PID check

Hi,

What happens if a monitored process crashes and *another* process starts and 
is assigned the same PID of the crashed process within a monit test cycle?
According to the FAQ, monit checks that the PID belongs to a running 
process, but can it tell whether it belongs to the monitored process or not?
