Yeah the info series of commands (info args...) can help too. After a bt, you can do 'frame #' where # is the stack frame number and examine the stack.


i've installed libc6-dbg debian package, which is a libc compiled with debugging symbols and i found that the error (likely) is in libc (or maybe the way i use it, but i've made a small code using argp and it still segfaults)... i've ask the libc mailing list about that and still waiting for reply...

Even if the segfault occurs in libc6 this done not mean a libc6 bug. It is more likely caused by your program passing bad data.
