If you synced with another server before correcting the changelog you
would receive the wrong cert again and again once you resync with it.

My objective here is not to remove the actual branch, but simply to remove record of it from my db. Of course if I synced again with a server with that branch I would get the branch again, but then why do I keep deleting it if I am using it? It is simply a change on the local db. It may be a branch that I am not associated with and I just don't want to see it when I do a 'list branches'.
