Thanks.  We've been unable to reproduce this exact failure case, do you have
a simple recipe for doing so?

I've just committed a change in 45510da1bc74f0164cf0fd09feb5de75689de721 on
mainline that will allow monotone to detect a locked database much earlier
and provide a better error message to the user.
