It seems that, at least on debian, gcc/g++ 3.4 isn't new enough to get a
working copy of monotone. Compiling with gcc/g++ 4.1 was successful.
I can provide more info and/or create a bug report if necessary, but I
wanted to confirm that this wasn't a debian-specific requirement first.
