I'm not sure that I see it as a separate command *at all*.

I see it as something that it would be great to include along with
many of the commands we presently have - Nathaniel gave a number of
really cool examples.  If we showed little graphs like this just about
everywhere other commands mention revisions, I think it would really
help overall cohesion and user orientation.

While it may be a controversial suggestion, the use of colour in the
graph, and in the other output, might help visual tracking of lines
and recognition of information features too (when displaying to a tty
with appropriate capabilities).  This could really help compensate for
some of the limitations of ascii-art diagrams.  I'm not a fan of linux
colour ls at all, but using colour in mutt and gentoo's emerge tools
show how colour cues can really help organise complex information.

Both of course optionally en/disabled and subject to hooks/preferences.
